UPDATED: Newborn Found Dead at Industry Waste Company

The infant's body was discovered in the 14000 block of Valley Boulevard.

Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a newborn in the City of Industry.

The infant was discovered at 2:20 p.m. today in the 14000 block of Valley Boulevard, according to a news release. The Sheriff's Department received a call to come out to the scene at 3:38 p.m. The baby was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Athens Services, located at 14048 Valley Boulevard, is a waste collection and recyling company that contracturally serves several Los Angeles-area communities, City News reported.

Homicide investigators are now in charge of the investigation.  No additional information is available at this time.
