Man Found Dead in Area Motel

The body of a man in his fifties was discovered in a West Covina motel room Monday and a preliminary investigation has ruled out foul play, police said.

Maintenance workers at the Five Starr Inn at 2748 E. Garvey Ave. found the body and reported it at 8:32 a.m., said Lt. Dennis Patton of the West Covina Police Department.

The man, who has yet to be identified, was the only person staying in the room and appeared to have died from natural causes, he said. But the investigation was continuing.
