More than 1,300 Drivers Arrested During Anti-DUI Crackdown in LA County

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is participating in the national Summer/Labor Day Avoid the 100 DUI deployments.

As part of the national Summer/Labor Day National Anti-DUI crackdown, special Avoid the 100 DUI deployments resulted in 1,371 drivers being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol in Los Angeles County in a 10-day period, authorities announced today.

The arrests were made between 12:01 a.m. Aug. 16 and midnight Sunday by officers representing 100 county law enforcement agencies. There were 1,258 DUI arrests made during the same 10-day period last year.

Of the 187 DUI arrests made Sunday night, six were the result of crashes causing injuries.
