The Los Angeles County coroner's office today released the name of a man killed in a crash involving three big rigs and another truck on the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway in Diamond Bar.
Gregory Swiney, 46, lived in Norco. Two other people were critically injured in Friday's crash.
The accident at Diamond Bar Boulevard forced the closure of all eastbound lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol. All westbound lanes also were closed for a time following the crash.
At least one person was trapped in the wreckage, and produce from one truck was strewn across several lanes.
A medical helicopter landed on the freeway to transport the two critically injured victims. A third person suffered a minor injury, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Tony Imbrenda.
The accident was reported about 11:05 a.m. The eastbound Pomona Freeway was closed for much of the afternoon, snarling rush hour traffic on multiple freeways, but CHP officials reopened the carpool lane and two left lanes just before 6 p.m.
