Off-Duty Fontana Police Officer, Resident of Walnut Dies in Motorcycle Crash

An off-duty Fontana police officer was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle in the Angeles National Forest north of Azusa, authorities said today.

The accident was reported around 8:25 p.m. Tuesday at San Gabriel Canyon Road mile marker 21, near Morris Reservoir, according to the California Highway Patrol online incident log.

The Walnut resident—identified by the coroner's office as 26-year-old Thomas Chamberlin—died at a hospital, said CHP Officer Jimmy Frausto

Frausto said the man was southbound when he lost control of his 2013 Triumph motorcycle for an unknown reason and it crashed.
