UPDATED: One Person Reported Dead in Hacienda Heights Incident

Details were still vague as of early Monday. THIS STORY HAS BEEN UPDATED

2 P.M. UPDATE:

Deputies with the Industry Station have begun to piece together the events that may have led to the death of a Hispanic man late Sunday.

The man was found in the 1800 block of Wickshire Avenue, Hacienda Heights. Originally officials thought it was a hit-and-run but have since learned it might have started with an assault.

Los Angeles County Deputies reported the following:

According to witnesses, the victim was walking when he was approached by the suspects who were riding in a beige SUV and a dark colored BMW. The suspects and victim exchanged words at which time the suspects exited their vehicle and attacked the victim. During the altercation one of the suspects drove the SUV and ran over the victim. The suspects then got back into their cars and left.

Some of the suspects who were involved in the altercation were located at a local hospital where they were seeking treatment for minor abrasions and a possible stab wound. The beige SUV was recovered at the hospital. The suspects are described as male Hispanics, 18-22 years old.

Investigators are still trying to determine the timeline of events that led to the assault.

9 A.M. UPDATE:

Homicide detectives worked today to determine the link between a man killed at a Hacienda Heights intersection and three people who took themselves to a hospital, apparently suffering from stab wounds.

Deputies were summoned at 9:53 p.m. Sunday to Wickshire Avenue and Kennard Street, said Sgt. Jay Broad of the Los Angeles County sheriff's Industry Station.

A man on the street was pronounced dead at the scene, with a vehicle nearby, while in a related development three people transported themselves to Whittier Hospital Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, Broad said.

Witnesses said the dead man had been run over and a man with him suffered minor injuries, and three people who had been in a car suffered stab wounds, a news photographer reported from the scene.

I wasn't talking about that, when did that happen, '73? Richard Nixon? That was a colossal waste ofRead More money. Nixon also started the EPA. Not many realize what a worthless Liberal he really was. He also took us off the Gold Standard which was the genesis for out of control gov spending.

How many people in wheelchairs, or blind people walking around have you ever seen in Walnut? I'veRead More lived here since 1968, I haven't seen one, not a single one. I have nothing against the handicapped, I do have a problem with the money it costs to jackhammer up sidewalks, and put ramps that nobody needs, especially 5 feet from a driveway aprin.
