Authorities sought public help on Wednesday to solve the killing of a West Covina man who was gunned down in a parking lot near a liquor store in Norwalk.
Christian Rodriguez, 32, was killed about 10:45 p.m. Dec. 1 in the 12500 block of Rosecrans Avenue.
Rodriguez was sitting in his car when a man and a woman approached him and an argument apparently ensued, resulting in the shooting, according to the sheriff's department.
Detectives released security video showing the suspects' getaway vehicle, described as a silver 2001-2002 Nissan Xterra SUV, with the woman behind the wheel.
"He lived with his girlfriend, and the child they had in common," sheriff's Homicide Bureau Lt. Steve Jauch said at a news conference where homicide detectives sought public help in the case.
"The loss of a boyfriend and a father, it's obviously something traumatic for them, and we're here on their behalf," Jauch said. "We're willing to do everything we can to bring the killers to justice."
The victim did not have a criminal history, according to the lieutenant.
Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call the Sheriff's Department at (323) 890-5500. To remain anonymous, call 800-222- TIPS (8477) or go on line at crimestoppers.org.
