Remains Found in Water Treatement Plant Near Industry Identified as La Puente Woman

The remains are those of Erin Lynn Cruz, a 27-year-old La Puente resident.

Human remains found at two water treatment plans, one near the City of Industry and the other in Carson, have been identified.

The remains are those of 27-year-old Erin Lynn Cruz, an East San Gabriel Valley resident, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department news release.

Cruz was last seen alive in La Puente in the late evening on Oct. 23, according to authorities. Her cause of death has not been determined.

Her torso was found in a county-run San Jose Creek Water Reclamation plant in the 1900 block of Workman Mill Road at around 9:25 a.m. on Oct. 28, according to deputies with the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.

The foot and calf had been found Oct. 26 about 8 a.m. in a separation pond at the county's Joint Water Pollution Control Plant in the 24500 block of South Figueroa Street.

On Oct. 31, a left arm was found at the Carson plant.

The water treatment plants are connected by sewage lines as big as 12 feet across. 

Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are asking that anyone who saw the victim after the 23rd of October or has any information about this incident to please contact Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323- 890-5500.
