The man was named with three men from Georgia in an alleged conspiracy to illegally bring people to the United States under false pretenses.

A local man was named in an alleged plot to recruit prostitutes to the United States through the use of student visas, a news publication reported Friday.

The San Gabriel Valley Tribune says a Diamond Bar man, along with three men from Georgia, brought women from Korea to the U.S. to work as prostitutes in bars in that state.

The "students" were enrolled in an English language school, the paper says.

"The indictment alleged that 53-year-old Sang Houn Kim of Diamond Bar manufactured and provided fraudulent passports, school transcripts, bank statements, family registries, and other fake documents to foreign nationals so they could apply for student visas to attend College Prep Academy," The San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports.

Kim reportedly charged thousands of dollars for the false documents.
