A woman from Rowland Heights was killed this weekend when a car driven by her husband veered off Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore and rolled over, CHP and coroner's officials reported.
California Highway Patrol officers were dispatched at 3:36 a.m. Sunday to the northbound lanes of the freeway approaching Nichols Road.
Humberto Turingan, 72, of Rowland Heights, had allowed his Lexus sedan to veer off the freeway for unknown reasons, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The car rolled several times onto the dirt center divider and landed on its roof. Turingan suffered major injuries but his wife, Cleopatra, 67, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP and coroner's reports.
Humberto Turingan was taken to Inland Valley Hospital for treatment.
