Teacher Accused of Sexual Misconduct Prepares for Trial

A former Lorbeer Middle School teacher faces charges of lewd conduct with a 14-year-old former student.

Jury selection in the case of former Lorbeer Middle School teacher Steven Andrews is scheduled to begin Tuesday, according to officials with the District Attorney’s office.

Andrews faces charges of lewd conduct with a 14-year-old former student at Lorbeer. He surrendered to Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff’s deputies on Sept. 30, 2011.

On October 5, the DA’s office filed 17 charges against him, including six counts of sexual penetration with a foreign object, six counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a child, two counts of oral copulation with a child under 16, and three counts of lewd acts on a child.
