Teens Charged With Breaking into Area Mansion, Throwing Party, Causing $1M in Damages

Party-goers reportedly caused $1 million in damages and losses at the house.

Fourteen teenagers were charged in connection with a break-in at a La Habra Heights mansion, where a party was thrown last November and resulted in more than $1 million in damages and losses while the owner was out of town, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced today.

An initial court hearing is set Wednesday in Pomona Juvenile Court for the teens, who were between 15 and 17 at the time and now range in age from 15 to 18.

The charges involve a party held at the 90,000-square-foot mansion between last Nov. 23 and Nov. 24, in which the home was looted and trashed, according to the District Attorney's Office. Authorities said the home's owner was out of town at the time.

Nine of the teens are charged with felony residential burglary, with four of those charged with grand theft.

Authorities said the party was advertised on social media and drew more than 100 teenagers.
