Trial Date Set for Former Lorbeer Teacher Andrews
Steven Andrews is charged with 17 counts related to allegations that he committed lewd acts against a student.
A new trial date has been set for a former Lorbeer Middle School teacher accused of committing lewd acts against a 14-year-old student.
Steven Andrews, 42, appeared in Pomona Superior Court Thursday where a May 6 date was set for trial with jury selection, according to Jane Robison, a spokeswoman with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office.
Before then, attorneys in the case are scheduled to return to court April 16 for motions and May 2 for a trial readiness hearing. The trial date is subject to change if attorneys determine they need more time at the readiness hearing, Robison said.
