A motorist was recovering Wednesday from injuries suffered when his vehicle crashed into a tree in the city of Industry.
The crash was reported about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Gale and Hatcher avenues, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's Sgt. Desiree Rodriguez.
Initially it was thought the man needed an airlift to a trauma center but medics determined he could be taken by ambulance to USC Medical Center, in Los Angeles, the sergeant told Patch.
The man had broken his leg and could not move out of the vehicle, so initial calls to the fire department reported him trapped inside, the sergeant said.
Neither drugs not alcohol were thought to have played a part in the crash, Rodriguez told Patch; the cause of the crash was under investigation.
The sergeant did say the night was foggy when the crash occurred.
