Walnut Teen Struck by a Car Airlifted to Hospital

A 17-year-old boy was struck by a car Tuesday morning and airlifted to a hospital.

The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. in the area near Valley Boulevard and Pierre Road, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lt. John Saleeby.

The teen was walking and a driver turning the corner knicked him, Saleeby said.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.  He was reportedly transported by helicopter from nearby Suzanne Middle School. 

The extent of his injuries were unknown at the time of this report.
