West Covina Woman Killed in 71 Freeway Crash Identified

A woman killed in a crash Monday on State Route 71 has been identified as a 21-year-old West Covina woman. 

Elizabeth Nicole Nutt died after she lost control of her car and it flipped multiple times, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner's website. 

At 2:40 p.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to an accident on the 71 freeway about 600 feet south of the Grand Avenue exit. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 2001 two-door Honda Civic that had veered off the roadway for unknown reasons and flipped over multiple times, authorities said. 

Nutt was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 7:27 p.m. due to her injuries.  The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
