In this week's Capitol Comment, Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff, R-Diamond Bar, discusses the state budget, as well as education and court funding issues.
Huff mentions a column by Dan Walters from the "Sacramento Bee" on Gov. Jerry Brown's proposed budget plan. The proposed plan increases spending this year by $3 billion, while court funding has been slashed, according to Huff.
The senator also talks about the governor's push for more online courses in the UC system, an effort with which Huff agrees. The governor's proposed budget includes an additional $10 million to increase online course offerings, Huff said.
The 29th Senate District Huff represents covers portions of Los Angeles, Orange, and San Bernardino counties, including Walnut and Diamond Bar. Follow Senator Huff on Twitter @bobhuff99.
