CAPITOL COMMENT: Huff Talks Brown's Budget Proposal

The State Senate Republican Leader also discusses proposed legislation that would keep the UC and Cal State University systems from increasing tuition.

State Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff, R-Diamond Bar, gives the run down on the first week of the 2013-14 legislative session in this week's Capitol Comment.

Among the the challenges the new year brings is Gov. Jerry Brown's recently unveiled budget proposal, according to Huff.  The lawmaker said that the plan includes additional funding due to the passage of Proposition 30 in November, which calls for a $50 billion tax increase during the next seven years.

Huff also shares information on Republican-authored legislation that would keep the UC and Cal State University systems for increasing tuition costs or fees as long as the Proposition 30 tax hikes are in effect.
