The nomination period for Diamond Bar City Council is underway ahead of the Nov. 5 election.

Looking to get more involved in local government?  Now's your chance.

Come November, three seats on the Diamond Bar City Council will be up for grabs on Election Day.

The nomination period for interested candidates began July 15 and runs through August 9.  According to the city clerk's office, six people have stopped by to pick up paperwork for the race, but no one had turned everything in as of Monday afternoon.

The seats of council members Steve Tye, Ling-Ling Chang and Mayor Pro Tem Ron Everett will all be at stake in the election.  So far, Everett and Tye have begun the process for reelection, the clerk's office tells Patch.

Candidates may pick up nomination papers from the City Clerk (21810 Copley Drive, Diamond Bar, CA 91765) during regular City Hall business hours of Monday through Thursday 7:30am to 5:30pm and Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm.
