City Hall Open House Set for Tuesday

The open house will take place from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at 21810 Copley Drive.

To celebrate the new Diamond Bar City Hall, an open house will be held Tuesday, February 21 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at 21810 Copley Drive.

Refreshments will be served, and tours of the second floor will be offered. According to the city, the tour will take about 15 minutes, start in the City Hall lobby on the second floor, and end in the Windmill Community Room.

The two-story, 57,000 square foot building will eventually also house the Diamond Bar Public Library, which is expected to be completed in July. Because it is still a construction zone, the first floor will not be open during the event.

After years of renting space, the city purchased the building in September 2010. The City Hall portion of the building encompasses 27,000 square feet of space, holding city offices, offices for Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department personnel, meeting rooms, a public service counter, and a dedicated Emergency Operations Center.

A regular City Council meeting will be held afterwards at 6:30 p.m. at the AQMD auditorium, 21865 Copley Drive.
