Council Reorganization on Diamond Bar Agenda
The two re-elected members will be sworn in, and a new mayor will be chosen during Tuesday's meeting.
It will be a night of reorganization and ceremony Tuesday when the Diamond Bar City Council meets.
The Council will ratify last month's election results, and once again swear in re-elected members Carol Herrera and Jack Tanaka. Afterward, the council will elect a new mayor and mayor pro tem, who will each serve a one-year term. After a presentation to outgoing Mayor Steve Tye, there will be a brief reception before heading back to city business.
The city's redevelopment commission and public finance authority, each made up by the five City Council members, will also reorganize by electing a new chairman and vice chairman for the coming year.

Otherwise, it is a light night of city business according to the agenda. The council is expected to approve, during the consent calendar, the awarding of a contract to LSC Construction for a new median design at Diamond Bar Boulevard and Clear Creek Canyon Road. Also expected to be approved will be a tract map that will allow five new homes in the Country Estates gated community.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the AQMD/Government Center's Auditorium, 21865 Copley Drive.
