Diamond Bar Bark Park Reopens

The dog days of summer have returned to the city of Diamond Bar’s Bark Park.

The dog park, located at Pantera Park, reopened Tuesday after being closed for several weeks for the installation of several new amenities, according to the city’s website.

The new amenities added include shade structures, additional benches, and drinking fountains.

The dog park opened in November 2012 on the 1.35-acre site on the south side of Pantera Park.  Bark Park includes two enclosed areas for the dogs to play and socialize leash-free, as well as drinking fountains with pet bowls, doggie waste bags, trashcans, and benches

Dog owners who frequent the park had asked for the additional amenities.

A couple of patrons commented on Facebook about the changes.

“Very nice,” wrote Reynaldo Reyes.

Raymond Russell wrote that the added covering is good, but won’t quite to the trick as well as some shade trees might have.

“This should provide shade for about an hr in the morning! Afternoon sun shines directly across (from the street side) and into your face when using these benches,” he wrote. “These are nice, but! I think some trees planted on the street side would have provided more bang for the buck.”
