Diamond Bar City Council Sets Nov. 5 Election

The election to decide who will serve next on the Diamond City Council is set for Nov. 5.

The council members Tuesday night voted 4-0 to adopt three resolutions related the election.  Mayor Pro Tem Ron Everett was absent.

One of the approved resolutions requests that the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors consolidate a general municipal election with school elections.

A consolidated race means the Los Angeles County Registrar/Recorder's Office would do all of the election planning and running, according to staff.  That would include finding workers for polling places, mailing out sample ballots, and canvassing election results.

City staff estimates that the election costs for Diamond Bar will total around $140,000.

Everett, as well as council members Ling-Ling Chang and Steve Tye, hold the three seats up for election.
