Huff Sends Measures to Governor
SB 456 will increase collection of household hazardous waste
Much of the attention has been placed on SB 161, but another legislative measure authored by Sen. Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) passed the Senate floor today and is being sent to Gov. Jerry Brown to sign.
SB 456 is set to increase the collection of household hazardous waste through door-to-door collection programs. The programs will transport and consolidate materials at licensed transfer facilities before moving them to a permitted processing facility.
Household hazardous waste includes light bulbs, batteries, paint, oil, electronics, lamps, and chemicals.

“I would like to thank my colleagues on both sides of the aisle for their support and cooperation in moving both measures forward,” Huff said in a statement. “It’s my hope that the governor will sign both into law.”
