Memorial Day Events Planned Throughout the Area

There are a number of Memorial Day events planned to honor those who gave their lives to protect our country. Please add to the list if we have missed any.

If you’re looking for a way to honor those who died while serving in our military, there is no shortage events. Below is a list of a few events in our region:

The Brea Veterans Club will present the 50th Annual Memorial Day Service at 11 a.m. Monday. Congressman Ed Royce is scheduled to deliver the principal message. The event will be held at the Memorial Terrace at Memory Garden Memorial Park and Mortuary

Memory Garden has served communities in Los Angeles and Orange Counties since 1958. Click here for more information.

Skip-Fordyce Harley Davidson will present the 13th annual West Coast Thunder 2012 Memorial Day motorcycle ride to Riverside National Cemetery to honor veterans.

The event is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. on May 28 at 7688 Indiana Ave. Admission is $35-$40.

Forest Lawn Covina Hills will host a Memorial Day program starting at 10 a.m.

The event will be held at the Forecourt of the Life of Christ Mosaic, 21300 Via Verde Drive in Covina. The event will feature music, a laying of the wreath and the playing of taps.

The Riverside National Cemetery will host its annual Memorial Day ceremony at 11 a.m. in the Amphitheater, the same location and time as Veterans Day, officials said. The 2012 Theme is Salute to Fallen Heroes

The keynote speaker is Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran SSgt. Octavio Gomez. Music will be provided by the Riverside Concert Band

The Roll Call Project will begin at 7 a.m., May 27.

The American Legion will host a Memorial Day Service at 11 a.m. Oak Park Cemetery in Claremont.

The Pomona Concert Band will present its annual Memorial Day Program starting at 8 a.m. at Pomona Cemetery, 502 E Franklin Ave. in Pomona.

City of Montclair will host their Memorial Day Celebration starting at 6 p.m. at the city’s Memorial Garden, 5111 Benito St., adjacent to City Hall.

The city will be dedicating a new plaque to its Veteran's Memorial Wall during the ceremony, officials said.

Industry will host its fourth annual Memorial Day Concert as part of the Puente Hills Concerts in the Park on Sunday, May 27.

The event begins at 2 p.m. and will be held at the Puente Hills Mall’s lower level center court. The mall is at 1600 Azusa Ave. in Industry. The event will feature speakers, Army Lt. Colonel Dore J. Gilbert M.D., Air Force Colonel John Fer and Army Reserves Sgt. Kevin Allen.
