Miller Endorsed by California Republican Party

The California Republican Party announced its endorsements for the June statewide election on Sunday in Burbank.

The California Republican Party has announced its endorsements for the 2012 June election, and Rep. Gary Miller (R-Diamond Bar), who is moving inland to run in the new 31st Congressional District, made the cut.

A longtime resident of Diamond Bar, Miller was active in local politics in the late 1980s and early 1990s, serving on the city’s first council and as mayor, before entering the world of state politics. Currently, he represents the 42nd Congressional District.

Earlier this year, that instead of running against Rep. Ed Royce (R-Fullerton) in the newly formed 39th District, he would go into San Bernardino County and run in the 31st, in an attempt to take the seat of retiring Rep. Jerry Lewis (R-Redlands). Also in the running for the 31st are Bob Dutton, a Republican state senator; Democrat Pete Aguilar, the mayor of Redlands; Renea Wickman, a Democrat and community activist; Congressional oversight attorney Justin Kim, and Rita Ramirez Dean of Twentynine Palms.
