VIDEO: Huff Takes a Stand on the Budget

There are a number of problems with the budget plan. It's built on the assumption that voters will approve $50 billion worth of new taxes this November, Huff said.

This week’s Capitol Comment by Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) is a video from the Senator’s Floor statement from earlier Friday in which he voices opposition to the Democrat crafted state budget plan.

“Proposition 25 gives Democrats the power to pass a new budget with a majority vote only,” according to a written statement released by Huff’s office.

Republicans have not been involved in any budget negotiations since Proposition 25 passed, Huff said.

“There are a number of problems with the budget plan, including the fact that it’s built on the assumption that voters will approve $50 billion worth of new taxes this November,” Huff wrote. “The budget also contains a number of ‘special fund’ raids and rejects many of the Governor’s proposed budget cuts.”

Senator Huff represents the 29th Senate District which serves Diamond Bar and Walnut.
