Rep. Ed Royce won election to the new 39th congressional district seat last fall, representing Diamond Bar and Walnut.

But how much did his House seat cost him?

Campaigns cost money—most of the time lots of it. In terms of dollars and cents, Royce raised $2,748,859 during the 2012 election cycle, according to MapLight, a non-profit that tracks money in politics.
