Cal Poly Pomona Ranked High in Regional List of Universities

The U.S. News and World Report released its annual Best Colleges report this week.

Cal Poly Pomona ranked No. 33 in regional universities in the West, according to a new U.S. News and World Report survey.

The magazine released its Best Colleges report Tuesday, which ranks universities and colleges that award bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees both nationally and regionally.

"The school, often referred to simply as Cal Poly Pomona, has an exceptional engineering program; about one out of every 14 engineers in California is a graduate," the report stated.

The rankings are available to the public online. The print edition of the survey will be on newsstands Sept. 24. 

Ivy League universities Princeton, Harvard, Yale and Columbia were ranked as the top four on the national list.

Williams and Amherst colleges in Massachusetts, and Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, led the rankings of national liberal arts colleges.

Crosstown rivals USC and UCLA were tied at 23rd on the list of national universities.
