DBHS Girls Golf Team Tees Up CIF 2012 Championship

This marks the first CIF title for the team in the school's history.

The Diamond Bar High School Girls Golf Team, under the guidance of Coach Tony McCabe, won the 2012 CIF Southern Section championship game on October 22 and took the 2012 title.

This is the first Girls Golf CIF title in the school’s history.

“We’ve been one of the elite teams since the program opened eight years ago,” McCabe said. “We’ve won the league championship every year, we’ve made it to the Sectional Finals seven out of last eight years, and we’ve made it to the State Semi-Finals four out of last eight years - only three teams have done this."

In the last three years, the DBHS team won 63 straight dual matches until Walnut High ended the streak.

Brahma sophomore player Bethany Wu won the Individual 2012 CIF Title.

“She has been stellar the last part of the season,” McCabe said.

“Bethany was also named League MVP - she’s the real deal.”  he added.

Bethany finished top six in the league and then advanced to the Northern Division Individual Championships held at River Ridge Golf Course in Oxnard on October 25.

She competed with the best 100 female golfers in the Southern Section at Sectional Finals on November 2 at Western Hills.

Wu shot three under par and only one other player broke par to earn the coveted title at the challenging course in Chino Hills.

“Pros like Tiger Woods and Ricky Fowler also won Individual Championships – she’s in that class now,” McCabe said.

The Girls Golf team vied in the State Qualifying Round on October 29 and placed in the top four which qualified the Brahmas for the Women’s Southern California Golf Association (WSCGA – State Semi-Finals) Championships on Thursday at The Golf Club at Rancho California.

If they finish in the Top 3 this week, they will advance to the State Finals at Red Hill Country Club in Rancho Cucamonga, McCabe said.

I wasn't talking about that, when did that happen, '73? Richard Nixon? That was a colossal waste ofRead More money. Nixon also started the EPA. Not many realize what a worthless Liberal he really was. He also took us off the Gold Standard which was the genesis for out of control gov spending.

How many people in wheelchairs, or blind people walking around have you ever seen in Walnut? I'veRead More lived here since 1968, I haven't seen one, not a single one. I have nothing against the handicapped, I do have a problem with the money it costs to jackhammer up sidewalks, and put ramps that nobody needs, especially 5 feet from a driveway aprin.

How about Hillary's failures: 1) Bill cheated on her 2) She was beat out for President by a Negro.Read More That is sure to "get" southern crackers like the Clintons, no matter how liberal they are. 3) Through incompetence, she is responsible for the deaths in Benghazi and covered it up.

You are so cynical, Hillary is awesome! She enabled the North Koreans to test a nuclear bomb withoutRead More consequences, turned Egypt into a hostile nation supporting the Moslem Brotherhood, supported the overthrow of Khadaffy in Libya, which is a paradise of Democracy now- take a romantic tour of Benghazi to prove it. Your nasty comments might bring on another fainting spell! "I declare, can a gentlemen get a lady a lemonade and a parasol"

So this sounds like a good reason to keep the proposed NFL stadium OUT of Southern California.
