The 2012 District Teacher of the Year English teacher Sandy Davis is celebrating her 25th year in education and 10th at Diamond Bar High.

She said that she had recently paused and reminisced about 25 years in the “kid business.”

“I realized that I have taught every grade level in some capacity in most grades K-12 with the exception of first and third grade. And from this frame of reference, I can honestly say that I genuinely appreciate what each grade level teacher contributes in this very critical mission of preparing our students for high school graduation and beyond, Davis said.

“I am also a peer counseling advisor and am blessed to have the unique opportunities to hear the inspiring stories of the dedicated and caring staff here in Walnut Valley. You’ve made a meaningful impact on all of our students’ lives,” she added.

“No matter what grade level one teaches - from transitional kindergarten to grade 12 to our dedicated support staff- we all have a stake, we all matter, we all care. As we collectively prepare our students to be successful productive citizens clearly all of the teachers being honored here today have been recognized as your school’s best and most dedicated. I am genuinely humbled to be counted among this talented and dedicated group,” she said.

Davis was presented with a red marble apple award, a gift basket filled with donations from local businesses, and a weekend getaway at the Marriott Marquis & Marina in San Diego.

Have not heard this, does it matter? That food quality is not too good and their Yelp comments areRead More pretty bad. That Del Taco is pretty scary too. That's an awesome location, I'd be cool if they would get out of the '70's and get something like a Five Guys in there.

Hi Ken we appreciate your concern with the scoreboard at Creekside Park, but their was no fingerRead More pointing on who was going to fix it. Pony Baseball has ordered the part needed to repair the scoreboard and we are very confident that it will be working properly for the All star tournaments.

I wasn't talking about that, when did that happen, '73? Richard Nixon? That was a colossal waste ofRead More money. Nixon also started the EPA. Not many realize what a worthless Liberal he really was. He also took us off the Gold Standard which was the genesis for out of control gov spending.

How many people in wheelchairs, or blind people walking around have you ever seen in Walnut? I'veRead More lived here since 1968, I haven't seen one, not a single one. I have nothing against the handicapped, I do have a problem with the money it costs to jackhammer up sidewalks, and put ramps that nobody needs, especially 5 feet from a driveway aprin.

How about Hillary's failures: 1) Bill cheated on her 2) She was beat out for President by a Negro.Read More That is sure to "get" southern crackers like the Clintons, no matter how liberal they are. 3) Through incompetence, she is responsible for the deaths in Benghazi and covered it up.
Michael W April 13, 2013 at 01:45 pm
You are so cynical, Hillary is awesome! She enabled the North Koreans to test a nuclear bomb withoutRead More consequences, turned Egypt into a hostile nation supporting the Moslem Brotherhood, supported the overthrow of Khadaffy in Libya, which is a paradise of Democracy now- take a romantic tour of Benghazi to prove it. Your nasty comments might bring on another fainting spell! "I declare, can a gentlemen get a lady a lemonade and a parasol"
Richard Dobiesz April 13, 2013 at 12:45 pm
Can anyone name even one of Hillary's accomplishments in the last four years? Other than maybe theRead More Benghazi debacle.
