13th Goal Not Lucky for Alex Morgan

Because a teammate was offsides, Alex Morgan's goal during play against Brazil Tuesday did not count.

What would have been Alex Morgan’s 13th goal of the year just wasn’t lucky.

The American team went on to win the game, part of the Kirin Challenge Cup, 3-0, thanks to goals from two other Southern Californians: Shannon Boxx from Redondo Beach and Amy Rodriguez of Lake Forest.
