On Your Mark, Get Ready, Fish!

Supervisor Don Knabe will host the 16 annual Knabe Katch Fishing Derby on Saturday.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe, who represents Diamond Bar, will sponsor the 16th annual Knabe Katch Fishing Derby on Saturday.

More than 600 youngsters aged 3 to 15 will have the chance to compete for a prize catch. Knabe and the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the City of La Mirada, Kiwanis International of La Mirada and the California State Department of Fish and Game, are hosting the event, county officials said.

A pancake breakfast will kick off the event at 7 a.m. The derby starts at 8 a.m. at the La Mirada Community Regional Park, 13701 S. Adelfa Avenue in La Mirada.
