Friends of the Diamond Bar Library Volunteers Recognized

Opal McKinley, Ilse and Jerry Boykin, and Rae Duncan were all honored.

The Friends of the Diamond Bar Library recently celebrated the volunteers who help run the organization and the Basically BOOKS store.

Opal McKinley was named the bookstore’s Volunteer of the Year, and Rae Duncan was named the Jack and Kathleen Newe Volunteer of the Year. The Jack and Eileen Tillery Business of the Year went to Ilse and Jerry Boykin, who have offered their financial and organizational skills for many years.

The Basically BOOKS volunteers were presented with a certificate by library manager Jesse Lanz and Basically BOOKS manager Mary Hackett. A new book was also added to the Diamond Bar Public Library collection with a bookplate in the volunteer’s name.
