Who has even heard of these stores? Didn't Aaron Bros.go under in 1987? Who wants to take the timeRead More to hack into these accounts? Dummies that shop there don't have any money! Low-brow and low income customers who bring in their 5 screaming kids ( 4 are obese!) And their parents let them terrorize the rest of the shoppers. Free babysitting while Mommy orders an extra large Slushee for Remo and his ADD. Why ? Parents weren't parented either. Or its considered cute as Jr. has his meltdown with sticky chocolate fingers ! Count me out...

Security is a deterrent not a preventative measure. There is no way to be secure from everyRead More possibility because it is impossible to even conceive of every possibility. Instead we try to secure against the threats we know of through experience and those we may anticipate through inference extrapolated from those experiences. The businesses are naturally and rightly profit driven and things that do not directly and or immediately hurt the bottom line do not get priority funding. Thieves too are profit driven though they are less regulated than business and in general face more personal risk than businesses typically do toward realizing their bottom line. Due to the actual few distinctions between the thief and business the thief must be the more resourceful of the two and thus more innovative. Security is always going to be a reactionary means of preventing theft. The proactive means to prevent theft are to accept there is no absolute security and otherwise either too expensive, too harsh, too time consuming or some combination of those. Considering how long humanity seems to have dealt with the issue, one might think we would have tried all of the available variables and figured it out sometime during the last 5000 years through trial and error. Oh wait, we have. Communities where the moral code is instilled in the population from cradle to grave coupled with punishment, justly applied, for infractions have almost zero crime and it costs them almost zero dollars. Face it folks, we're all hippy freaks living in/on a commune we call Earth. Continually spending good money over top of bad as our orthodox approach has required over the centuries has only produced more crime and or prisons. This implies more crime/prisons is the goal if you THINK.

That's the state of Californication for 'ya.... They say they want A "greener state" butRead More at the same time they run Tesla and Exide Batteries out of the state. The fools in Sacramento won't be happy until EVERY manufacturing Plant in the state has moved elsewhere.... ... With that all of the hard working TAXPAYERS will be forced to follow their jobs out of state leaving nothing but a bunch of welfare recipients, stupid teachers, and fat politicians to sit around and whine because there's NO MORE REVENUE to pay them all to do NOTHING AT ALL !!

If it weren't for Grow Houses and Brooding Farms, Nail Salons and Massage Parlors there would be noRead More business at all.
Larry W April 22, 2014 at 12:56 pm
If you don't like dealing with odors, you shouldn't have move to Irwindale. What will they complainRead More of next? The dust from the century old quarries, the noise from the big rigs heading to warehouses built in the 50's or the smell from the brewery that has been there since 1978?

When taxes are imposed on various industries then to stay in business the prices increase on theRead More consumer! Obamacare , gas taxes, payroll taxes, tolls, the proposed soda and candy tax , your tobacco tax is 75% of what the product really costs! Commercial Property tax increases! Do you people see what's going on here? This country is being destroyed by the Democrats! It is starting to resemble The a Soviet Union! We should change the name of this country to the USSA!

Mark, Your words are absolutely disgusting. Please do not use this comment thread as a vehicle toRead More spew your racist mentality. And for your information, food-borne illnesses come from agriculture, period. All around the world, including in the U.S. Lastly, your hatred for people of colour does not mean that you understand disease, at all. Good luck in life.

"Yelp's Top 10 Restaurants in Diamond Bar: Do You Agree?" Noooo, I do not. The only one IRead More recognize is Barro's Pizza. Lol, if those are our top 10 restaurants in our city, then we are stuck at the bottom of the "bowel barrel." I would take half of those off the list and replace them with our McDonald's, Carl's Jr, KFC, AM/PM, Weinerschnitzel, Chili's, and any vending food machine in town. It's still not saying much, but the list would be alot better.
Shailesh Pandit April 2, 2014 at 02:36 pm
I agree with India Coffee & Snacks being in this list. Small restaurant but good food and niceRead More owners. I eat there often.

It is unfortunate that you have to drive to the next COUNTY to find a place that will serve theRead More English speaking minorities from this area. Chino and La Habra are the CLOSEST places to find something that you recognize as edible, Fullerton and Anaheim offer many excellent choices as well. (Damn I miss "The Turkey House")

Smarty you. Luckily I have been able to avoid the DMV for over 10 years. Whenever I have beenRead More in there I feel like I am in a 3rd world country. And I have been to some seedy spots in the world. Also the 'workers' (I use the word loosely) behind the counters. They work at one speed because they know they can't be fired.
Teri Felker March 24, 2014 at 11:58 am
In 2013 I had to actually go to the DMV to renew my license because I was over 70. I made anRead More appointment and drove all the way to Costa Mesa because I had been told it was less offensive there. At least my appointment was on time but the line for others went all the way around the building and looked like a welfare office complete with screaming kids.

Folks, instead of the continuing "B" circle, how about calling i.e., Assembly Person CurtRead More Hagman and Sen. Bob Huff to gut this Albatross. The Rpwland Heights Gazette will start this week. Make it a campaign issue. Get your City Fathers to raise the Flag. Run for office on this issue. Curt and Bob will be termed out soon.

These morons are bragging that the unemployment rate is below 9%. That is horrible. Obama shouldRead More be impeached for so bad a number. Get it to 4% before you start advertising success. BTW, why do you want to make illegals eligible for employment? Aren't there enough US citizens in Calif out of work. Typically illegals compete for Hispanic and Black jobs.
Ray Russell March 9, 2014 at 01:10 pm
And how much of this decrease is because people have reached the end of unemployment funding and areRead More no longer covered? They still aren't employed! These numbers are not real, they are slanted to make the government look good. Numbers can lie and in gov. Hands, often do!

So what is the excuse now, to raise the gas prices. we are still below production.. people does notRead More consume as much gas as b4. evrything is below normal. transportation is slow, there is less freigth around, that means less trcks on the road, jobs are below average, that means less cars on the road, so what is the excuse for this greddy corporations to raise the price of fuel..and this sorry ass goverment does not said anything.just like this, overnite the price just went up like almost 60 cents here in Los Angeles area, from $3.40 to $4.00 in less than 2 weeks. That is what I called stealing with a white glove, and we the citizens can't do nothing about it, This Oil Corp. just don't give a crap about the economy, and of course, the Clowns in congress, don't care . The only thing this good for nothing Senators in Washington care is their Pockets, the rest of the Citizens of the USA can go and screw themselfs. How about that...
Vito Spago March 3, 2014 at 03:44 pm
What do you expect with an Oil Man in the White House. OOps, they already used that one. What doRead More they expect with an incompetent in the White House. Actually oil groups are proving to Obozo that they are too big to fail. First the Banks. Then Wall Street. Now the Oil Companies. Failure means the economy grinds to a halt, the middle class gets burned, and they do not vote for Dumbocrats. Horrors. Cannot have that. So Odumbo will use executive orders and have his minions change and enforce only the laws that make these groups filthy rich at the expense of the middle class. Odumbo will wear out his teleprompter giving eloquent speeches saying what the muppets want to hear and blaming the Republicans so the Dumbocrats will be in office for centuries. The banksters, Wall Street and the Oil tycoons will be wildly wealthy for centuries and mom and pop muppet will continue to be screwed all the while voting for Dumbocrats and being thankful for that free Obamaphone.

The insurance companies are the next wealthy class in this country thanks to the latest taxationRead More without representation called forced Obama Care. Now everyone must pay the piper or else! And they must pay what the piper wants to charge, no questions asked!

All of these leaders are responsible if the LA economy crashes and burns so of course they are goingRead More to say all is well. Guaranteed there will be higher interest rates and higher costs for everyone including businesses thanks to Obamacare premiums. That means less money to spend and less people to hire. If that is good news, you have to be nuts.

Too bad new homeowners cannot own houses in LA. Hopefully housing prices will be dropping soon. IRead More think economists and Realtors are predicting a housing crash.

Not sure I believe those data from our EDD. We are blessed to live in healthy and wealthyRead More neighborhoods, but stepping outside does not look good.
Vito Spago January 27, 2014 at 09:10 am
When you give up and quit looking or enough time goes buy that you lose your benefits you are notRead More counted as looking anymore. Unemployment is the percentage of those looking for employment to employed plus looking times some seasonal funny factor. Most folks do not know this so they think things are better for everyone but them.
