Yes, I suspect this kind of money laundering is much more prevalent in the San Gabriel Valley region…Read More than we realize. I hope the Feds are not stopping with just this case. And aiding international drug traffickers gets you only 14 months, six of those at home? While I rejoice that these two scumbags were caught, the lightweight sentence is just ludicrous.

Agree. All these mom and pop businesses in this area are very close knit and can involve tax and…Read More other fraud and no one is the wiser. My guess is that services are paid for by cash, barter, or gold/silver coins and jewelry. No paper trail. When your business gets larger, involves outside investors and requires outside auditors, is when you can believe that legitimacy is present.

I have a feeling this is just the tip of the iceberg. Let's get some more of the crooks; don't make…Read More it so easy for them to prosper.

Believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear! None of you posting on this thread know…Read More anything about the charges or the evidence. Lisa May is afforded the presumption of innocence under the United States Constitution and the Constitution of the State of California, so lets try not to vilify her here. There are too many stories of people spending 20 years behind bars for murders, rapes etc. they did not commit. Convictions because people didn't ID the right person, prosecutorial misconduct, shady police work, witnesses with malicious intent to lie or simply that DNA testing was not available at the time. This isn't the Salem Witch Trials people!

There are many additional thieves in Walnut Valley Unified School District. They appear to be…Read More upstanding citizens and residents, yet they steal from the tax paying citizens of the US. They cheat the system by lying about there income to receive free and reduced lunches and reduced fees for AP exams. It would be great if the "Patch" would report on this topic; however, it probably won't happen because it would be a source of embarrassmment for many so called "honest parents" in your community.

Insurance is prohibitively expensive for cash, guns, jewelry and family heirlooms. To let someone…Read More just carry these away is lunacy. Would you shoot someone who was stealing your great grandmother's wedding ring. It is irreplaceable.... Shoot them, pull them into the house and put a kitchen knife in their hand. End of story.

No shotguns for me. Just a few well-placed roundhouse kicks to the face of the would-be burglars…Read More for me. And yes, I take taekwondo classes in Diamond Bar. There's no need to protect your house if you've got insurance like Julia said. In fact, I leave my front door wide open all evening so they can take as they wish. Paying a deductible might be a pain, but hey I got my roundhouse kicks to keep me safe at night.

What happened to enforcing the ban on TALKING while driving? Isn't that why the Bluetooth was being…Read More pushed so hard by law enforcement in 2008, to PREVENT distraction while driving also? I guess talking on the phone is LESS dangerous than texting, paying attention to the GPS on the windshield, or the old favorites like eating, drinking and READING behind the wheel, right?

I teach all my kids to judge. To judge the character of those around them. To judge situations…Read More they may encounter. To judge the surroundings they enter. The ability to judge and make good decisions is one of the most fundamental skills you can teach your children. Not judging is ignorant.

There are trauma centers and trauma centers. Best is LA County/USC but that is for accidents in LA.…Read More For accidents in San Berdoo, Arrowhead Med Center gets the tough cases. Likely because it is a teaching hospital. You get the professors there who are the best and they have the most experience in the toughest cases. You also get students, but they are pretty sharp too. Also heard that recently LA Co/USC emergency room was temporarily closed.

There were NO EVACUATIONS, according to Inspector Quvondo Johnson of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Johnson said the blaze was knocked down at 4:58 p.m
If it is true that there were no evacuations, why did Ching knock on doors? Did he really go house-to-house? What time was that? Was there anyone else with him? Why was he allowed to walk around? Was it already safe? Did he coordinate his efforts with anyone?
