We have to make people aware that our State is run by public employee Unions and we need court casesRead More like today which ruled that the California Teacher Tenure rules are unconstitutional so that we can change laws and vote people out of office who do not represent the interests of the public who pay the taxes.

Something that is interesting to note is that high school grads are going to four year universitiesRead More and studying subject that isn't marketable. While on the other hand you have people getting vocational training at vocational schools that essentially guarantees them a job out of school that will make them 'x' amount of money. So it isn't that college degrees are worthless, some are. It is also said that sometimes trade school is the right choice! The destruction of child rearing began with Dr. Spock .........and has continued in a downwardRead More spiral while picking up momentum as it continues down the slippery slope.
Ray Russell April 5, 2014 at 10:10 am
Schools need to clean up their acts first before they can do anything about bullying. Teachers andRead More school administers need to stop bullying students by suspending them for expressing their patriotism for this country or for playing like children. Then and only then can they begin to educate about equality and the reasons why bullying is wrong! Clean house first!

Vito, there is still some lead in gasoline. And for years there was substatual amounts. How aboutRead More all the wiring ? As a contaminate in most of the metals, plastics, oils, etc! Not much in each car but put all of them together it adds up to a very large source. And yes in batteries!
Vito Spago February 19, 2014 at 12:58 pm
But batteries and old cars are recycled. All parts are reused or disposed of in an environmentalRead More manner. I doubt if any of the fuel has lead in it anymore. It would poison the catalytic converters which are required to last for 100,000 miles to meet polution requirements. Also the solar project in Nevada has been found to kill birds by frying them. Perhaps Nguyen needs to do a study on this and get it shut down. http://wattsupwiththat.com/2014/02/13/the-2-2-billion-bird-scorching-solar-project-at-californias-ivanpah-plant/

Vito even with recycling of auto s there is waste and and contamination. Just go visit your localRead More auto recycle yard. As for car batteries, have you visited or at least driven past a recycle center? The waste and loss is very large as is the contamination! If birds are dumb enough to fly into slow rotating windmills or into the hot rays of reflected light as you have mentioned, they also may be too dumb to servive in the wild as well. The real studies should look at the overall population to check for reduction in overall numbers not by counting the dead birds at the sites where the dumb ones may be killed!
