As a part of Kiwanis International (headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana), their overall theme is “Serving the Children of the World.” Walnut Valley’s club motto is, “Having Fun Helping Others.” Major community service and fundraising events include an annual golf tournament (in conjunction with the local Sheriffs Boosters), feeding the needy at Christmas time, support for Isaiah’s Rock, holding a Poker Tournament, the annual LA84-Mt. SAC Youth Days, and the annual Chapman Student Awards ceremonies. The Walnut Valley Kiwanis Club is especially proud to sponsor Key Clubs in the Walnut, Diamond Bar and John A. Rowland high schools as well as the Circle K Club at Mount San Antonio College.</p> <p>During the Chapman Awards, eight scholarships and about 90 plaques of recognition are given to graduating seniors of all the High Schools of the Rowland and Walnut Valley Unified School Districts, as well as Diamond Ranch High School in the Pomona Unified School District.</p> <p>Their events this year also include support for the Relays for Life in both Walnut & Diamond Bar.
