Long-time Redlands resident and 2012 candidate for Redlands City Council.

ABOUT ME

I’m a Florida native who has lived in Redlands since 1987. I have a B.A. in Russian Studies and Slavic Languages from the University of Florida. I spent a year studying at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland, where I subsequently taught English. The years I spent in Poland under Soviet Communism profoundly deepened my appreciation for our American liberty and freedom.

CAREER & FAMILY

I came to California to work at the headquarters of Campus Crusade for Christ International in San Bernardino. I have 32 years of experience as a graphic designer, film editor and creative director with Christian nonprofits. Now I own a small business, Lane Schneider Dot Com.

My husband Greg is an award-winning photojournalist formerly with the San Bernardino Sun. He is now a freelance photographer and adjunct professor of visual journalism at Biola University in La Mirada. Our daughter lives in Seattle.

MY SKILLS & STRENGTHS

My professional career is one of creative problem-solving. I have experience and skill in teaching, and also enjoy developing relationships, systems and networks as a creative team player.

ACTIVISM & POLITICS

In early 2009 I founded the Redlands Tea Party Patriots. The group has grown in numbers and influence in the IE, and has sponsored many public events to expand community awareness and involvement in issues and elections.

In June of 2012 I was elected to the San Bernardino County Republican Central Committee, the grassroots Republican organization in the county. I’ve been a member of the Republican Liberty Caucus since 2011.

WHY AM I RUNNING FOR REDLANDS CITY COUNCIL?

I want to bring a fresh perspective to the Council. Because I have a passion for the liberty that our Founders won for us, I will bring the principles of our Founding to every decision I make as a council member. I will work towards a more limited role for government in our lives, as our Founders intended.
